The Ticket
Written by Gary Bragg, David DeMichelis and Eric Ottem
Directed by Michael Raimondi
The Ticket grew out of Bragg’s experience working on a gubernatorial campaign. The political stage was so obviously similar to the concert or musical stage, Bragg had to wonder: why not cut out the tiresome speeches and sing instead? The Ticket’s drama grows out of a feverish race to the governor’s mansion and features a broad range of musical styles, including pop, jazz, old-school funk, alternative rock and reggae. With a distinct musical style for each candidate, the musical sophistication amplifies the dramatic tension and emotional range of the characters fighting for a spot on The Ticket.
